A collage of four images: classical art of two women in a boat on a river, a close-up of a man's face with glasses, a man lying on the floor amid scattered books and art supplies, and a colorful landscape painting of a tree and water.

Bob Voigts creates analog collage works from discarded printed materials—packaging, manuals, maps, textbooks, and forgotten ephemera — transforming fragments of commercial history into modern visual compositions.

Chicago-based, self-taught, he launched Wordsworth Design, a graphic design business, in 1986. His experiments in collage and assemblage, and his personal study of art history, have been the biggest influences in his work, as well as the landscapes of Illinois and Missouri.
